Be Aware Of The Things You Do During Your Drinking Sessions

Did you know that you can do some things in order to decrease the effects of alcoholic drinks in the body? You can follow the tips in this article to help you reduce the risk of having a hangover.

First, choose the alcoholic beverage that you will drink. Congeners are chemicals found in alcoholic drinks. The higher congener concentration there is, the greater chance of you getting drunk and a hangover. The darker the drinks (dark bourbons, red wine, scotch and brandy) mean the more congener they have. While those clear or white or colorless drinks like white wine, gin and vodka have less congener content. But also remember that whatever color of liquor you have, even if it is cheap, the more poison will be in it. So it can help to avoid those drinks which are cheap. Another thing, red wine contains tyramine which is an extra hangover-inducing poison. That is why be careful with the wine that you choose to order from the bartender.

Second, you can also alternate drinking alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic drinks. This will prevent you from getting dehydrated. Drinking fruit juice like apple juice is a good thing. Choosing grape or orange juice is not a good choice.

Control your pace by drinking one liquor per hour. This will help the liver to break down the alcohol in your body so that you will not easily get drunk and will lessen the effect of the alcohol. This is true because it usually takes an hour for the liver to breakdown a bottle of beer.

When you head home and before dozing off to bed to sleep, there are still things you can do to prevent the attack of a very bad hangover.

Go to the restroom to have a pee. Drink plenty of water, just drink some more as long as you can drink. This may not be a real good feeling but its effect is great. For sure the water lost from your body while drinking will be replenished. So, you will avoid getting dehydrated. If you like, you can also drink juice or sports drink, they contain B vitamins to help replenish the electrolytes in your body, to keep you from getting dehydrated. Always remember not to take analgesics to cure headaches caused by hangover. Aspirin and ibuprofen will just irritate and upset your stomach and thus will aggravate the symptoms of hangover. Acetaminophen like Tylenol is also not good when mixed with alcohol because it will be dangerous to the liver. However, if you want to drink medications, a multivitamins or supplements will do. They might be of help in replenishing the lost B vitamins in your body. Still, drinking plenty of water is a great help especially with keeping you hydrated and removing the toxins of alcohol.

Take the necessary precautions so that you can be safe from having a real terrible hangover. It is better safe than sorry.
